20-Year-Old Busker Starts Elvis Classic… and Proves He Belongs on the Big Stage

Finley Barrett-Carter, 20, emerged from Britain’s Got Talent 2026 looking more like a relaxed college student than a celebrity. He informed the judges that he used to perform rock ‘n’ roll songs for anyone who would stop and listen while busking on York’s streets while juggling his studies.

His selection of Elvis Presley’s “Burning Love” revealed his true feelings. Finley went from being courteous and a little anxious to becoming a full-fledged showman as soon as the band started. With that distinct Elvis flair, his tone was rich and gravelly, yet entirely his own. The judges were clearly taken aback by how large and captivating his voice was, and in a matter of seconds the audience was applauding.

The entire theater was in a frenzy by the time he reached the last chorus. His natural stage presence and classic rock ‘n’ roll sound were commended by the panel, who described his voice as “made for much bigger stages” than the pavements he typically sings on. Finley went from being a street vendor to one of the most talked-about auditions for the upcoming BGT series after just one performance.
