Karaoke Twists and Kitchen Rockstars: The Night the Judges Were Left in Shock!
The Ireland’s Got Talent stage is no stranger to the unexpected, but the latest episode took “variety” to a whole new level. From high-energy duos to a ballad-singer-turned-rocker, the auditorium was a whirlwind of glitter, rock ‘n’ roll, and a few “kitchen karaoke” surprises.
The night kicked off with Sparkle, a duo consisting of Caroline and Jen. Staying true to their name, the pair brought massive energy to the stage with a medley of high-octane hits. Their infectious enthusiasm resonated with the panel, earning them four “yeses” and setting the bar for the night’s high-energy performances. Following them was Apple Blossom, whose performance split the judges. While Denise Van Outen felt the act was more suited for a cruise ship than the big stage, the rest of the panel appreciated the vocal talent, eventually awarding the “yeses” needed to move forward.
However, the moment of the night belonged to Elaine Cudden from Dublin. Describing her act as “kitchen karaoke,” Elaine initially stepped onto the star to perform a soft, nostalgic rendition of Barbra Streisand’s “The Way We Were.” The judges were ready for a sentimental ballad, but within seconds, the music shifted into a roaring electric guitar riff. Elaine shocked everyone by launching into a full-throttle performance of Guns N’ Roses’ “Welcome to the Jungle.” Louis Walsh was visibly stunned, admitting he was in “total shock,” while the rest of the panel praised her for the brilliant “bait-and-switch.” Joined by the “Diva Dolls,” Elaine secured a unanimous set of four “yeses,” proving that you should never judge a singer by their first note.
