Youth, Passion, and Poetry in Motion: The Lyrical Dance Duos That Took Over IGT
The latest round of Ireland’s Got Talent was a emotional masterclass, driven entirely by the staggeringly mature talents of its youngest competitors. Proving that dance can be an incredibly profound medium for storytelling, two different youth pairings left the judges completely spellbound and fighting back tears.
The emotional showcase began with Double Impact, a dance duo composed of 8-year-old Sisha Lily and 12-year-old Kyle. Ahead of their performance, the confident pair shared a sweet goal: they explicitly stated they wanted to perform a contemporary Romeo and Juliet routine that would “make Denise Van Outen cry.” The second they took the floor, all playful banter vanished. They delivered a fully charged, intensely dramatic lyrical routine filled with seamless extensions and an emotional weight that left the room in a hush. Denise Van Outen was visibly transfixed, admitting she was “completely speechless” at how fluid and beautiful it was. Michelle Visage marveled at their maturity, noting that they displayed emotional control far beyond their years. Double Impact successfully hit their goal, sailing to the next round with four enthusiastic “yeses.”
Not to be outdone, Sligo natives Isabella and Fion (Izzy and Fion) took the stage with a powerful message of their own. 10-year-old Fion used his pre-show interview to deliver an inspiring message to other young boys, stating that it doesn’t matter if people think of dance as a “ballerina” thing—any boy who wants to dance should pursue it proudly. Performing an athletic, highly polished routine to Sia’s “Alive,” the duo displayed a level of technical prowess and fierce passion that culminated in a massive standing ovation from the entire room. Denise Van Outen praised the way the emotion resonated all the way through to their fingertips, while Jason Byrne was so excited he could barely speak. Isabella and Fion secured another clean sweep of four “yeses,” proving that the future of Irish dance is incredibly bright—and unstoppable.
