While there are often surprises in reality TV competitions, few moments have been as memorable as Josh Krajcik’s 2011 audition on The X Factor. What appeared to be a fun beginning swiftly developed into an incredible performance that astounded the judges and the crowd.
Ohio native Josh Krajcik, a modest burrito maker, entered the stage with a lighthearted and carefree attitude. A few people in the audience laughed when he jokingly revealed that he works at a burrito business in response to a question about his occupation. But Josh was going to demonstrate that talent can appear in the most unlikely places.
There was a brief period of mistrust when Josh revealed his song selection, “At Last” by Etta James, especially from Simon Cowell, the notoriously harsh judge known for his direct criticism. Josh seemed to be making the right decision, as Simon, who frequently suggests that competitors reevaluate their song choices, seemed to be doubting his decision. He had no idea that he was going to see anything truly remarkable.
