No one could have predicted that a viewer would submit the most poignant audition of the night on this episode of Britain’s Got Talent 2025. During a break, Simon Cowell was contacted by a man named Max Fox who asked to try out. He clarified that he had been attempting to appear before the judges for 19 years but had never been successful.
At first, the judges were skeptical. They ensured that it wasn’t a set-up and that he had just been fortunate to get a seat that day. Max said that he was nervous, but he asserted that he was going to take advantage of the moment because it might be his only chance. He left the audience, picked up the microphone, and chose “My Way,” the song that creates the largest impact, once the stage had been cleared and the lights had been turned on.
The first note made it clear that this was not going to be a chance karaoke session. He was completely absorbed in the classic and had a rich, expressive voice. You could hear the year-long waiting and desire in the way he sung the lines. The studio crowd, who had just seen him suddenly, went silent and started cheering as he built to the grand finale chorus. The judges were moved, not amused as they had anticipated.
When he finished, he received a standing ovation from the audience. The panel praised not only his voice but also his courage in asking for a chance in the middle of the crowd after nearly two decades of trying. Then, out of the blue, Amanda Holden smashed her Golden Buzzer, showering Max with gold confetti and turning an unplanned “why not?” moment into the dream he had been dreaming of for 19 years.
When Max Fox initially arrived at BGT, he was just another face in the crowd. Sometimes you only have one shot, and if you have the guts to grab it, everything may change. He departed as a Golden Buzzer performer.
