Alana, a performing arts teacher from Dublin, is no stranger to the spotlight, having previously reached the bootcamp stage of The X Factor. However, this time, she was determined to make her mark as a solo artist.
Taking on Lady Gaga’s powerhouse hit “Shallow” is a daunting task for even the most experienced singers, but Alana nailed it. Her delivery was both delicate and powerful, showcasing a strong vocal “belt” that brought the auditorium to its feet. Louis Walsh, who actually remembered Alana from her previous talent show journey, declared her a “class act” and a natural pop star. Michelle Visage was equally effusive, predicting that Lady Gaga herself would be proud of the performance.
