A Human Skipping Rope?! Austrian Troupe “The Freaks” Terrorize and Thrill the BGT Judges!

Human Skipping Ropes and Gravity-Defying Stunts: The Freaks Shock the BGT Judges

Every now and then, an international act arrives on Britain’s Got Talent and completely alters our perception of what is physically possible. Traveling all the way from Austria to fulfill a lifelong dream of performing on the iconic British stage, an acrobatic troupe named The Freaks did precisely that. Represented initially by two young girls—17-year-old Paula and 9-year-old Aneka—the group’s unassuming, sweet introduction gave absolutely no hint of the utter chaos they were about to unleash.

Set to a dramatic, pulse-pounding soundtrack, the routine exploded into a high-octane, dark-circus themed spectacle. Dozens of troupe members flooded the stage, executing mind-boggling human catapults, extreme high-flying flips, and massive multi-level balancing towers. The absolute peak of the performance came during a sequence that left the arena screaming in terror and disbelief: the troupe used 9-year-old Aneka as a literal, real-time human skipping rope, swinging her body through the air while another acrobat flawlessly jumped over her.

The judges were left completely dumbfounded, with Alesha Dixon visibly panicking in her seat. David Walliams labeled the performance “utterly terrifying and thrilling,” noting it was one of the most extraordinary things the show had ever witnessed. Amanda Holden praised the flawless production and sheer imagination, calling out the extraordinary courage of the young performers—and joking that their parents must be even braver to let them do it. Simon Cowell bypasses standard feedback to call out the group’s choreographer and creator, Oussie, publicly branding him a “genius” for his rare imagination. The Freaks easily sailed into the next round with a roaring, unanimous sweep of four gigantic “yeses.”
