Glass Decks and Rusk Jokes! Jamie Skelton and Sean Hegarty Steal the Show on IGT!

Magic, Mind-Bending Cards, and One-Liners: The Variety Stars of Ireland’s Got Talent

The Ireland’s Got Talent stage was a whirlwind of mystery and laughter this week as two very different performers brought their unique sets of skills to the panel. From a magician who literally “melted” ink to a comedian who turned the entire auditorium into a choir for his one-liners, the episode was a masterclass in variety entertainment.

First up was Jamie Skelton, a 24-year-old magician from Balbriggan. Jamie took the bold step of leaving the stage to join the judges at their table for some “up close” magic. What followed was a series of card tricks that left even the skeptical Jason Byrne in disbelief. Jamie “melted” ink on a card Michelle Visage had signed, only for that exact card to appear inside a zipped compartment in his wallet. His finale, where he transformed a standard deck of cards into a solid block of glass while in Jason’s hands, was described by the judges as “freaky magic.” With a clean sweep of four “yeses,” Jamie Skelton proved that he is a “cut above the rest.”

The energy shifted from mystery to music-infused laughter with Sean Hegarty, a one-liner comedian from County Armagh. Sean, a former bouncy castle business owner who “went bust,” brought his entire family to watch his big moment. His act featured a series of “corny” but clever jokes separated by a catchy jingle that the entire audience sang along to. Denise Van Outen admitted her “cheeks were hurting” from laughing, while Michelle Visage praised the simplicity and joy of the performance. Despite the “cheesy” nature of the set, Sean’s charm and audience engagement earned him four “yeses” and a standing ovation, proving that sometimes, a good laugh is exactly what the doctor ordered.
