He Stutters When He Speaks… Then The Song Starts…

Timothy Michael Poe, a military veteran from San Antonio, delivered one of the most emotional and inspiring auditions in talent show history. Sharing his harrowing story of being injured by a grenade in Afghanistan in 2009—which resulted in a broken back, a traumatic brain injury, and a severe speech stutter—Timothy explained how singing became his unexpected path to healing after his speech pathologist suggested it in the shower.

Thank you for watching!

Taking the stage with incredible courage, Timothy performed a breathtaking rendition of Garth Brooks’ “If Tomorrow Never Comes”. To the amazement of everyone in the room, his stutter completely vanished the moment he began to sing, revealing a rich, smooth, and deeply moving voice that brought the audience and judges to tears. Showered with praise and gratitude for his service, Timothy easily earned unanimous “Yes” votes to move forward in the competition.
