RuPaul Rhythms and Golden Buzzer Accidents! Paul Ryder and Martin McInness Shock IGT!

Voguing Kings and Golden Buzzer Blunders: The Wildest Night on Ireland’s Got Talent

The Ireland’s Got Talent stage has seen its fair share of spectacles, but the latest episode delivered a masterclass in theatrical high-energy, followed by a shock twist that left the entire room—judges included—in utter disbelief.

The night kicked off with a burst of pure charismatic energy from Paul Ryder, a dance teacher and choreographer by day, and a prominent drag performer by night. Walking out onto the stage, Paul shared a touching tribute to his late father, a man who defied traditional expectations by proudly sitting front-row at drag bars, cheering, “That’s my son in a dress.” Paul channeled that lifelong support into a stadium-level performance. Flanked by a large troupe of his own weekend dance students, Paul delivered an electrifying, ultra-synchronized dance routine to a mashup of Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” and high-fashion vogue tracks. Michelle Visage was ecstatic, playfully calling him “RuPaul Ryder,” while Denise Van Outen praised the flawless production and sharp choreography. Paul swept the board with four massive “yeses,” cementing his status as a hometown favorite.

However, the mood shifted from polished showmanship to absolute chaos when a Donegal farmer named Martin McInness stepped onto the star. Wearing heavy wellies and an oversized coat, Martin told the panel he owned a few heifers on the hills of Arranmore. The judges widely speculated he might be a secret stripper or contortionist, but Martin returned to the microphone in a suit to sing Cilla Black’s classic ballad, “You’re My World.”

To say the singing was off-key would be an understatement. Martin lacked any recognizable vocal ability, prompting the crowd and judges to squirm. As the performance derailed, Denise Van Outen and Jason Byrne began a playful physical tussle over the golden buzzer on the desk. In a hilarious stroke of accidental fate, Denise shoved Jason’s leg, causing his foot to slam directly down onto the Golden Buzzer. Golden confetti rained from the ceiling for one of the worst vocal auditions in the show’s history. While Michelle Visage lamented that Cilla Black would be “spinning in her grave,” an embarrassed Jason was forced to stick with his accidental golden act, sending the tone-deaf farmer straight to the live semi-finals.
